Uniform

With the full support of our P&C and community, all students are expected to wear correct school uniform

everyday.

Effective from Friday 12th April 2013, changes were made to the school uniform. These included:

  • a refreshed and updated school uniform including jackets, polo shirts and pants
  • introduction of a new sport uniform

The Hurstville Public School uniform can only be purchased from My Schoolwear Shop.

Thank you to all of the families who do such a good job of making sure our children wear

the correct school uniform. Our students look wonderful, and feel such a sense of school

and personal pride, when they know they are wearing what is required. Uniforms are also a

great equaliser: when all children are wearing the same, correct school uniform, they all

look equally well cared for, irrespective of families' different circumstances.

Don't forget that school uniform also includes:

  • plain black school shoes with the summer and winter uniforms for both boys and girls
  • plain white sports shoes and white socks with the sports uniform for both boys and girls
  • plain white short socks (no leggings or tights) with the girls' summer uniform
  • plain grey short socks with the boys' summer and winter uniform

Examples of suitable black school shoes for girls and boys (worn Mondays to Thursdays for Years 3-6; and on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays for Kindergarten and Years 1 and 2):

Examples of suitable white sports shoes for girls and boys (worn on Fridays only for Years 3 to 6; and on Thursday only for K-2):

Correct school uniform also means not adding non-uniform items: brightly

coloured shoe laces and hair ribbons; jewellery; clothing which is visible

worn underneath the uniform, such as long sleeves under short sleeves

and leggings; non-uniform jackets, hats and jumpers.

One way in which we can foster school pride and build our reputation in the community is by the

wearing of correct school uniform every day. There is some assistance available for families if

there are financial difficulties in providing school uniform for children. We greatly appreciate

your cooperation.
