Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Hurstville Public School.
For nearly 150 years, our school has been a proud part of the Hurstville community. Guided by our vision to transform lives socially, emotionally, and academically, we support every student to Strive for Success and grow as a respectful, responsible learner.
We are a diverse and vibrant community, with students from more than 40 cultural backgrounds and many at the beginning of their English language journey. This diversity enriches our school and drives our commitment to equity, inclusion, and personalised teaching. Across our mainstream classes, Support Unit, Community Languages, and Opportunity Classes, every student is known, valued, and supported.
Our staff work together to deliver high expectations in learning, strong wellbeing support, and innovative, collaborative teaching practices. Partnerships with families, our P&C, universities, health services, and community organisations further strengthen the opportunities we provide.
Our school improvement work focuses on three key areas identified through extensive consultation: sustaining academic growth, strengthening wellbeing, and building a collaborative culture. These priorities ensure we continue to provide an environment where every child can thrive.
Thank you for being part of our community. Together, we will continue to build a welcoming, inclusive school where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
